3 Questions | The Book

A year of interviews I conducted on the social network Ello collected all in one place.

What would happen if you asked a complete stranger three questions?

Over the course of a year that’s exactly what I did. I asked photographers, painters, graphic designers, gun owners, animators, pizza enthusiasts, beggars, poets and more three questions.

This book is the result.

The interviews collected in this book first appeared on Ello, a community of creators, thinkers, and dreamers.

MEASURING 6"x9" (15x23 cm) printed in FULL (economy) COLOR (or COLOUR if you prefer that spelling).

INCLUDES a foreword written by @ello Chief Product Officer Lucian Föhr (@lucian) and an introduction by me, Jeremy Burnich of Joy Complex (@joycomplex).

Be Inspired – Kubra Khademi

Be Inspired.

Last spring I learned about the Afghan artist Kubra Khademi.

In short: On March 7th, 2015, Afghan artist Kubra Khademi donned a suit of armor to protest the mistreatment and harassment of women in Afghanistan. Her audience, almost entirely male, threw insults and stones, and quickly gathered into crowds. She walked for a total of 8 minutes and went into hiding for months.

I created a pendant based on her Armor protest hoping to raise awareness and money for Women for Afghan Women - a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to securing and protecting the rights of disenfranchised Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan.

Sadly, I failed to sell a single one.

But, last night out of the blue I was contacted by Kubra (who is currently in Europe). First via Instagram and then by email.

Innocent feeling of myself when I was a child wished I was wearing metal suit !
I am glad and surprised women from way far my society understand the dept of my work !

She asked for photos of the pendant and posted them on her Instagram account and on her Twitter. This has to be one of the highlights of 2015 for me.

The Story

I was walking down the street and noticed how many people that were wearing Apple’s ubiquitous earbuds - myself included. It was crazy! All these different people with the exact same white wires sticking out of their ears.

People wore different clothes and accessories to suit their sense of style, but the EarPods they had were all the same.

I stopped to get some cofee and while I was waiting for it to cool I was unable to stop thinking about all the EarPods. I wondered if there was a simple way I could make an EarPod accessory that looked fun, could express individuality, and be minimally intrusive (and be inexpensive).

Looking out the window, I saw a fashionable woman in her mid-20’s waiting to cross the street. She had thus boho-chic look going on and had these really awesome earrings that kept bumping into her EarPod wires.

Yep. That's when it clicked. Why not make earrings for EarPods interrogbang

Using laser sintered nylon I could use 3D printing to make these things in all sorts of colors and designs. Inexpensively.

Fun. Different. Simple. Cheap!
